How can I save money?

BE PREPARED. Everything that can be in a box should be. For local moves we operate on an hourly basis so I’ve compiled a list to help put money back in your pocket.

  1. Be thorough with your inventory.
  2. Have everything in boxes and have tops and bottom of boxes taped.
  3. Disassemble and reassemble the things that you can.
  4. Be organized.
  5. Avoid delays.
  6. Move small items.
  7. Have a plan for pets and kids.

How do you determine the price of a move?

Local: Hourly

The price is determined by the number of guys we must send to complete your move in a timely manner. Which is determined based off the inventory that we gather either over the phone or from a our free in-home estimate. Our movers do this day in and day out. We do our best to not over work them so they can better serve you. That being said we have our teams finished by 5pm so they get adequate rest in-between moves.

Long distance: Flat Rate

Long distance moves take a little more planning. In most cases we require an in-home estimate and an exact inventory. A Lot of factors go into calculating the price for a long distance move. The most notable being inventory and distance.

How do you handle damages?

To think damages will never happen would be wishful thinking. When moving damages happen. Where Show Me Movers sets it’s self apart from our competition is how we handle damages when they occur. To maintain a high reputation we work diligently to make sure our customers are happy at the end of every move. That being said we carry 1 million general liability coverage and 400 thousand cargo insurance. Most damages are handle out of pocket. Most cases the furniture can be repaired. In some cases it is most appropriate to replace the furniture all together .

Are estimates free?

YES! Whether we gather the inventory over the phone or send someone out in the KC metro area we do not charge for our estimate.

How much notice do I need to give?

As much as possible. Most companies need 2-3 week advance to get you on their calendars. That being said most companies will do what they can to work with your schedule.

Will my belongings be on a truck with other customers?

In most cases no. We offer a personalized service if you are moving long distance your belongings will be the only items on our trucks so their will be no confusion.

Do you subcontract out moves.

No, if you book with us you’ll receive Show Me Movers trained professionals. We do this to maintain the 5 star service Show Me Movers prides it’s self on.
